Cathelene's Tiffany and Co. Themed Quinceanera

Quinceanera is a Hispanic tradition where a young girl's coming of age is celebrated. It recognizes a girls journey from childhood to adulthood.

I was super excited when Cathelene's mom contacted me to photograph her daugther's Quinceanera since I recently moved from Maryland to Southern California and this will not only be my first Photography job here in California, but also my first EVER Quinceanera Photography.

We went back and forth with emails and booking was solidified.

I immediately began researching, and learning all I could about Quinceanera, what it means, what is involved, and the best way to Photograph it. I took my time to create a timeline/ a list of must have shots which I shared with the mom to look over and ammend as necessary. 2 months to the event date, I was fully ready and ready to go. Did I mention how excited I was? lol

Here are some major highlights of Cathelene's Quinceanera celebration, who by the way looked absolutely gorgeous, and was a joy to work with:

We started out with getting ready shots and detail shots of her ball gown, Ramo ((bouquet), and other details of the day at Cathelene's home. Then we started with the first part of the Quinceanera celebration, which is a religious ceremony (Mass). The mass took place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lancaster, CA where the Quince was prayed for. She was presented with a gift during this ceremony. Flash Photography was not allowed during the Mass, this is where understanding light in photography comes in. We made the best out of it.

Upon completion of the Mass, I went to a nearby park with the Quince and her Court for our portrait session. Let me tell you, it was so much fun being around these kids. They were a pleasure to work with. We spent about 30min to 45min at the park taking portraits.

We then started heading to the reception venue, at the AV Banquet Hall, Lancaster CA for dinner, fun, and dancing.

There were three formal dances performed: father/daugther, mother/daughter, and 2 dance performances by the Quinceanera and her court.

AV Banquet Hall did such amazing job on the Deco.

Thanks for Stopping by:)

xoxo
